The Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI), a division of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), is the organization that is responsible for writing and maintaining the SQF Program as well as a variety of other supporting resources and industry programs. While we are most famously known for our globally benchmarked food safety and quality program, we do so much more writing and maintaining this standard.
Our mission is to deliver consistent, globally-recognized food safety and quality certification programs that are based on sound scientific principles, applied across all industry sectors, and valued by all stakeholders. At SQFI, we incorporate retailer and stakeholder feedback to address the many global food safety and quality issues that society faces every day. We recognize that pursuing a certification program for your business is a big commitment – regardless of your food safety and quality experience levels.
At SQFI, our goal is always food safety – and we are dedicated to not only writing a rigorous standard, but also developing comprehensive training, cohesive guidance materials, and free educational resources to help you along the way. Success does not happen in a vacuum, and neither does food safety. Together, we can help to build a safer supply chain, one food producer at a time.
